Synergy: a combination of independent factors that create an effect far greater than anything any single factor could produce on its own.

Throughout history, sages and mystics have realized that knowing the Divine goes hand in hand with an understanding of the universe. These sages treasured the dynamic synergy of All That Is. Unfortunately, the hostility between science and religion has deprived the world of this compelling combination. But as Einstein observed, “Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind,” making it impossible for either one of them to release our world from the fear and uncertainty that rob us of the joy we deserve.

But there’s no need for us to wait until science and religion decide to cooperate. Throughout history countless men and women have lived in fearlessness. How did they find peace and security in the midst of chaos? Instead of listening to the prevailing ‘wisdom’ of the day, these seekers went directly to the Source. Through gnosis, the direct experience of the Divine, they discovered there has never been a separation between God and the universe. What they experienced turned their understanding of the universe upside down. But this reversal also gave them the clear vision needed to live fearlessly. And now, for the first time in human history, quantum research is confirming what these mystics and sages experienced.

From the moment we’re born, we’re all taught to see the universe through a peephole of limited perception.  We naturally assume we’re seeing the whole picture, but all our fears originate from our misperceptions. Each of us can live in fearlessness when we’re willing to let go of our preconceived notions and experience reality firsthand. You don’t have to be a physicist or a sage. Gnosis, and the scientific research that backs it up, are readily available to each and every one of us. You can live a life of fearlessness!

What the sages and scientists have to say:

Science:

In removing our illusions we remove the substance, for indeed…substance is one of our greatest illusions—Sir Arthur Eddington, astrophysicist

A superintellect has monkeyed with physics, as well as with chemistry and biology…there are no blind forces…in nature—Fred Hoyle, astronomer, mathematician

We do not belong to this material world…We are not in it; we are outside. We are only spectators—Erwin Schrodinger, physicist

Everything we call real is made of things that cannot be regarded as real—Niels Bohr, atomic physicist

The atoms…themselves are not real, they form a world of potentialities or possibilities rather than one thing of facts—Werner Heisenberg, theoretical physicist

Our separation from each other is an optical illusion of consciousness—Einstein, physicist

Whatever matter is, it has little, if any, substance… The faculty of consciousness…is a primary quality of the cosmos, an intimate aspect of all existence… The light of consciousness shining in me is the same light that shines in you—and every sentient being —Peter Russell, author of From Science to God

Sage:

Matter is derived from mind, and not mind from matter…Your mind in its true state…is not realizable as a separate thing, but as the unity of all things…It is only because of deluded ideas, which you are free to accept or reject, that you wander in the world—The Tibetan Book of the Great Liberation (Padma-Sambhava, 8th century sage)

Your essential nature is not at all in time or place, but is purely and simply in eternity—Meister Eckhart, 13th century mystic and Dominican Friar

You must not think of me as this person who can be touched and grasped by the senses, but my true Self is remote from the body—Porphyry, 2nd century sage and philosopher

We suffer from a hallucination, from a false and distorted sensation of our own existence as living organisms…What you are basically—deep, deep down, far, far in—is simply the fabric and structure of existence itself—Alan Watts, 20th century mystic, philosopher

Spirit is simply a name that men give to the highest conception of Infinite Living Mind—it means ‘the Real Essence’…Don’t feel insecure or afraid; we are all held firmly in the Infinite Mind of the All, and there is naught to hurt us or for us to fear —The Kybalion, 19th century, anonymous mystics

At the base of consciousness is a transcendent unchanging reality apart from time…Our true Self is the ultimate reality of the universe—Nishida Kitaro, 20th century philosopher/sage

God is one; and he himself does not… exist outside the world, but in it…being wholly present…the animating soul of the universe—Pythagoras, 6th century BCE mathematician/ philosopher/sage

Einstein’s Conclusion:

The most important function of science is to awaken the cosmic religious feeling and keep it alive…The religion of the future will be a cosmic religion. It will have to transcend a personal God and avoid dogma and theology. Encompassing both the natural and the spiritual, it will have to be based on a religious sense arising from the experience of all things, natural and spiritual, considered as a meaningful unity.
